Sotto talks only to your receiver, over your own local network. No account, no cloud, no tracking - there's nothing for anyone else to see.
The app communicates solely with the receivers you set up, on your Wi-Fi, using Denon and Marantz's own control protocols. It never connects to our servers, and it contains no third-party SDKs at all. The one exception is Apple's own App Store, and only if you choose to leave a tip.
Zero analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. No telemetry, no profiles, no data collection of any kind.
No sign-up, no login. Your receivers, scenes and favorites live only on your device - and are gone the moment you delete the app.
The only thing that can ever leave your device is a diagnostics snapshot you choose to send - redacted on-device first (model, firmware and zones only; never your network, serial, or what you're playing).

Three one-off tips, for anyone who wants to support the work. They grant no features, and ignoring them costs you nothing: every part of the app stays exactly the same.

Verified profiles are built one receiver at a time, from a real snapshot of that exact model. The Denon AVR-X3800H and AVC-X3800H were the first, and the list is still short. Any model that isn't profiled yet runs in experimental mode with the core controls (power, volume, inputs, mute and zones), which is enough for most units.
The app sorts this out for itself. Connect it, and if your model isn't fully profiled yet it offers to send an anonymized snapshot: model, firmware and zones, never your network or what you're playing. That's how a receiver becomes verified, and it's the quickest way to get yours exact.
