Control Center guide

Your receiver, one swipe away.

Updated 11 October 2026 · Sotto 1.0.11

On an iPhone running iOS 18 or later, add Sotto controls to Control Center for receiver power, mute, volume and saved scenes. Connect the receiver in Sotto first.

Add your first controls

  1. Open Sotto, connect the receiver and confirm a volume or mute change works. If you have several receivers, select the one you want to control.
  2. Open Control Center: swipe down from the top-right on an iPhone with Face ID, or up from the bottom on an iPhone with a Home button.
  3. Tap the add button, then Add a Control. Search for Sotto.
  4. Add Receiver Power, Receiver Mute, Volume Up or Volume Down. Tap outside the editing area to finish.
  5. Try a control while the receiver is reachable, and verify the receiver’s actual response.

See Apple’s Control Center customization guide for the system editing steps.

Put a saved scene here too

Create and check the scene in Sotto. Add its Activate Scene control, edit the control’s configuration and choose the saved scene. You can add separate controls for different scenes. Activate Last Scene repeats the scene most recently activated in Sotto.

Scene controls open Sotto to run the sequence. They may require unlocking your iPhone. A scene control without a chosen scene cannot run one.

What to expect

Power and mute controls show the last receiver state Sotto saved. If the receiver is disconnected or the state is old, the display can lag behind the hardware. Open Sotto to refresh it. HEOS play/pause and track controls depend on the current playback source.

Volume controls use Sotto’s configured safety limits. They change the selected receiver; they are separate from the iPhone’s own media-volume slider.

When a control does nothing

Open Sotto once after installation, check Local Network permission and confirm the active receiver is reachable. For standby power, enable the model’s network-control setting. Follow the connection checklist if app controls also fail.

For iPhone with iOS 18 or later. Every feature is free; tips are optional. The iPhone and receiver need to be on the same local network.
