Marantz compatibility
An iPhone remote for the CINEMA 50.
Updated 11 October 2026 · Sotto 1.0.11
The Marantz CINEMA 50 has a verified profile in Sotto. It supports main-zone and Zone 2 control, saved scenes and iPhone automation, with sound controls matched to the receiver’s capabilities.
What you can control
| Area | Available controls |
|---|---|
| Main zone | Power, source selection, mute and variable volume. |
| Zone 2 | Separate power, input, mute and variable volume where the receiver’s source and zone setup allow it. |
| Sound & correction | Sound-mode selection and supported Audyssey controls. Dirac filter-slot selection depends on compatible firmware, licensing and installed filters. |
| HEOS | Now-playing and supported playback transport. Music-service browsing and HEOS room grouping remain in the HEOS app. |
| Automation | Scenes, Siri Shortcuts and Control Center controls from your iPhone. |
Set up Sotto
- Put the CINEMA 50 and your iPhone on the same local network. The receiver may use Ethernet while the phone uses Wi-Fi.
- Open Sotto and allow Local Network access.
- Choose the receiver from discovery, or enter its current IP address and use Test Connection.
- Check the receiver’s Network Control setting if you want to switch it on from standby.
Keep the CINEMA 50 owner’s manual nearby for model-specific network and zone settings. If discovery fails, use our connection checklist.
Know the limits
The verified profile includes the main zone and Zone 2, not Zone 3. Available inputs and sound controls still depend on the receiver’s firmware, source and configuration. Sotto can select supported processing settings; it does not perform Audyssey calibration or install Dirac filters.
This page is for the original CINEMA 50. A similarly named later model, such as CINEMA 50 SERIES 2, should not be assumed to share its verified profile.
